Choir at Pilgrims

There is no strenuous audition or difficult entrance exam to pass in order to become a member of the Choir at Church of the Pilgrims. You do not need three letters of recommendation, either. (Where do these rumors start?) All that we ask of you is that you like to sing and that you enjoy expressing prayer and praise to God in song.
Every Sunday morning, and on special worship occasions, our choir leads our congregation in lifting our song to the Lord. In addition, the choir makes their own musical offering to God with anthems, introits and/or benedictions each time we worship. At least two Sundays a year are special “Music Sundays”, when the choir leads the congregation in special worship celebrations such as a Psalm Festival or Service of Lessons and Music.
We offer two opportunities each week for rehearsal: Thursday evenings from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM and Sunday mornings from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM . We have two rehearsal times to accommodate the varied schedules of busy Pilgrims and ask only that you try to attend one of them per week. Some folks attend on Thursday so that they may participate in Christian Education on Sunday morning. Others are not able to be here during the week, so they rehearse on Sunday mornings. At 10:30 we all get together for a final warm-up before worship begins.
To find out more, or to join the choir, phone the church, e-mail the Music Director ( rob.passow@musician.org ) or stop in and chat with one of our current choir members. You can even just show up at rehearsal! Getting involved is easy, and the rewards are great!
