Christian Education

Christian Education plays a vital role in the life of Church of the Pilgrims. We gather at 9:30am September through May for Christian education. Whether we are 1 year old or 100 years old, we have a responsibility to be life long learners of the Christian faith. Education at Pilgrims equips persons to become faithful Christian disciples by: learning the language and history of our faith and tradition, creating community through questioning, examining, and exploring the Bible, and sharing life experiences in order to integrate how to live out our faith in the world.
Church of the Pilgrims offers educational and spiritual formation programs for all ages. We currently have classes for our toddlers and preschool age Pilgrims and adults.
Young Children's Educational Opportunities:
Children age 2-5 gather each Sunday morning at 9:30am for Sunday school. Our little Pilgrims have a special, well designed room that offers them a place to play, explore and learn about God and Jesus.
Adult Education Opportunities:
Our Adult education program offers diverse opportunities to honor the variety of learning styles that are present within a community. We offer classes that touch on contemporary topics (more information based) to centering prayer (more “heart” based). We have all come to experience Christ in our lives in various ways. Our Adult education opportunities honor those experiences and challenge us to experience Christ in new and creative ways.
Intergenerational Education Opportunities:
Pilgrims in an intergenerational community and we learn from the youngest and the eldest of church members. Throughout the year, we have special intergenerational education opportunities. These events are held at our regular 9:30am Sunday school hour.
