St. Luke's House Exhibit--a visit with the artists
Dupont Art Gallery
Dupont Pilgrims Gallery shows “Art for the Spiritual Journey” by local artists. Often the shows have religious themes: “Misc. Saints” comprised mixed media images of women saints and “Living Letters” featured oil paintings based on the Hebrew alphabet.
Other shows focus on social issues: “Images of Homelessness” comprised photo-realistic oil portraits of homeless people, and “Coming Home” consisted of black and white photographs of everyday life in a home for men with full-blown AIDS.
Several exhibitions have featured work by artists in marginalized social groups, such as “The Art of Coming Out” by members of the Gay Youth Pride Alliance, “Community Colors” by mentally retarded members of the L'Arche Community, and “Lens and Pens,” by inmates at St. E lizabeth 's Hospital. “Pilgrims' Progress,” a show organized for Pilgrims' Centennial in 2003 comprised art by members, former members, and friends.

Most of the artists whose work is shown at Dupont Pilgrims Gallery are not represented by commercial galleries, and have few opportunities to show their work to the public. The Gallery encourages their careers by offering an affordable place to show their work—there is no charge for the space and the Gallery takes no commission on sales.
The Dupont Circle community is a center of art activity in DC with more than 20 galleries and several museums, including The Phillips Collection, America 's first museum of modern art, just two blocks from Pilgrims. Dupont Pilgrims Gallery signals Pilgrims connection to the community and its belief that art can contribute to the building of God's kingdom on earth.
Members, friends, and visitors are invited to view the art on Sunday's after worship on the First Fridays of each month when the galleries of Dupont Circle hold open house from 6 to 8 PM . They are also invited to participate in this ministry by recruiting artists, installing shows, preparing advertising, or organizing receptions.
