Summer of Questions Worship Series

Are you ready for some questions?

We're going to spend this summer exploring some big questions together. In a new worship series, we'll gather around tables, and use our very own Church of the Pilgrims Mission Statement as a guide to discuss what we really mean when we say, "we are pilgrims on a spiritual journey" and that we are "trusting God to show us the way."

Using a psalm and a story each week, we'll look at part of our Mission Statement and consider what it might really mean to us and to our faith journey.

You're invited to come - wonder, worship, and share!

Neighborhood Walking Visits - May and June

So much has changed over the past few years- in our congregation and in our neighborhood. Let’s talk about it! Let’s walk around and notice it!

We’d love for you to click here and sign up to share a walking visit in our community with Pastor Erin. We can take a stroll around the neighborhood, and you can share your stories of past adventures or we can notice all the new places together. Or if walking isn't for you, we can have a porch visit on the front steps of the church and chat right there.

The weather is nice and the sunlight is long again - it’s a great time for all of us to get to know the neighborhood together again!

Walking with Friendship Place

Friendship Place’s Walk to End Homelessness

As many of you know, Church of the Pilgrims has been supporting Friendship Place and its mission to end homelessness in the DC metro area for over 30 years. I have been Pilgrims’ representative to the Congregations Committee at FP as well as an active Board member for the past 8 years. I’m truly passionate about the amazing work they do and the progress they are making.

For that reason, I’m sponsoring a “Church of the Pilgrims” team for the annual Friendship Place Walk on Saturday, April 29. The walk kicks off at 11:00 AM with registration opening at 9:30 AM. I’m looking for walkers and/or donations. It’s a fun morning out at the reflecting pool and Lincoln Memorial.  There are T-shirts, snacks, entertainment, dogs and kids and it’s not a very long walk! The link to sign up to donate or join the pilgrims’ team is below. If you’d like more information please contact me: Mitch Fulton at home.onthehill@verizon.net Thanks!
