Once again this summer we'll be stuffing backpacks full of school supplies for students participating in Friends Place's programming. We're going to go ahead an buy all the goods, then in worship on August 4th, together, we'll stuff the sacks. If you'd like to make a donation toward the purchase of the backpacks and supplies, you can do so on our website (be sure to select "Backpacks Friendship Place from the drop-down menu).
Pilgrims Farmer's Market Fun - 7/21
It's time for our next Summer Fun event! This Sunday, 7/21, after worship we'll all go over to the Dupont Farmer's Market together. Maybe you get some fresh veggies, maybe you talk to a vendor about their business model, maybe we all buy snacks and sit in the grass in the circle and eat and enjoy the day? The possibilities are endless! Let's go see what fun we can find together!

June Issues Among Us - 6/26
It’s an Issues Among Us Outing to Friendship Place! Come take an inside look at another Friendship Place facility and learn about the programs at their Welcome Center. On Wednesday, June 26th at 5:30pm you are invited for an inside peek at Friendship Place’s flagship program. This will be a little more DIY than our usual Issues Among Us outings, as it’s not our event, but we think it is such a great opportunity to get out and learn about the programs and offerings of FP and to see how our support of their programs makes a difference.
You need to RSVP for this event.
Please RSVP by email to crutledge@friendshipplace.org.
Summer Worship Series - What We Say We Believe
Join us on Sundays for our new summer worship series: What We Say We Believe. We are exploring the creeds, confessions, catechisms, and statements of faith collected together as the Presbyterian Church (USA)'s Book of Confession. We'll consider what the ancient, reformed, and modern declarations of faith and theology and practice mean for our tradition and for our lives as a congregation now.
Each week, we’ll pair a confession or two with a couple of scripture readings and dig into both the history and theology at play.
Some folks might already own a paper copy of the Book of Confessions, but all of us can download a free copy of the 2016 updated Book of Confessions (with the Belhar Confession included) here: https://www.pcusa.org/resource/book-confessions/. Feel free to download and read along as we go. Or just show up and listen in.
Soup Night - 6/13
Come to church and help make soup to share with our neighbors. We’ll have all the stuff, you put in the work, then on Sundays we heat and serve! We’ll see you in the Bird Room on Thursday, June 13th at 5pm.
Pride Worship - 6/9
Come to worship on Sunday, June 9th, in person or online at 11am for a special Pride service. We’ll celebrate God and God’s love for the LGBTQIA community. Chaplain and Elder Flanny Flanigan will be preaching. And yes, there will be special Pride themed treats. Hope to see you there!
Cuba Partners Sunday - 6/2
Come to worship on Sunday, June 2nd and hear all about what happened on this year’s trip to Havana. We’ll share stories and pictures and prayers and tell you how you can continue to support our Cuban neighbors!
