Pilgrims’ Response to COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

Sunday Virtual Worship and Fellowship

UPDATE: We are resuming in-person worship on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022. If you plan to join us in the sanctuary, please wear a mask, practice social distancing, and dress for the doors to remain open during worship. As of March 20, 2022 we are going to resume singing under our masks. It’s recommended you wear an N95 mask if possible. Worship leaders will take off their masks while speaking, but will continue to maintain distancing. We will continue to offer online worship via Zoom and FB Live for those who prefer that option.

We've love seeing everyone’s faces in worship, but also want to protect our community through social distancing. To do both of these things, we gather each Sunday by Zoom Meeting for worship and fellowship.

Here are a few things to know:

  • Register here to get the worship link. This is a recurring event, so you only need to register once and will get a reminder email each week.

  • To keep our space safe and secure, we will use a Waiting Room for worship. When you login on Sunday mornings, you will see a screen letting you know the host will let you into the meeting soon.  Our Zoom Usher will admit you to the service shortly.

  • Turn your camera on and off as you’re comfortable.

  • We’ll mute everyone for most of the service, but there will be times we invite you to unmute yourself, like during Passing of the Peace.

  • We'll continue into Fellowship time within the same Zoom session. No second link needed! We use Mutual Invitation: when you’re done speaking, call on another person by name to share. We also use Breakout Rooms to split into groups of 3 or 4 for smaller conversation.

What about Open Table?

Several people are serving our neighbors each week through our Open Table ministry. We wear gloves to serve our guests--not passing food--and use to-go containers while encouraging both hand washing and eating in the garden. We are making weekly decisions about Open Table, mindful of the needs of our neighbors as services are being disrupted in various ways.

What about other ways to be in community together?

We are having four Zoom Fellowship times each week:

  • Fellowship following 11 a.m. Worship each Sunday

  • Zoomtails, Happy Hour on Tuesday Night at 5 p.m.

  • Lunch Chat, Lunch Conversation on Wednesdays at noon

Caring for those Who Do Not Have or are Intimidated by Technology

We need some "tech buddies", people who would be willing to take a laptop to visit a member of the congregation and watch our live-streamed worship, check-in and/or help someone be a part of an on-line chat. If you would like to do this, please let Pastor Jan know.

In addition to connecting members with each other, Jan is going to be making lots of phone calls to check in with folks. Also, feel free to reach out -via email or phone. The Session is also going to be identifying ways to check in.
